AIM: To challenge for service
TEXT: Luke 5:4-7

Recap
Recap and emphasise the rangers importance of being at Camporama this week to hear God's call on their life - to go and make disciples. That God in us makes a difference.

The challenge [read Luke 5:4-7]
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch." Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets." When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signalled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

This passage is prophetic - it speaks about how God will use each one of us and the Ranger ministry to effect a great harvest.

- put out into the deep
Leaders - we need to be reaching beyond our church families, beyond the comfort of the familiar
We need to be out in the streets and suburbs where people don't know God.

- let down your nets for a catch
The net is the Ranger program
The catch is souls saved

- we have worked hard all night
We've tried other programs, other ideas
We've worked in our own strength and seen little or no "catch"

- I will let down the nets
We need to be obedient to the prophetic word. I choose. I will. I will do what ever it takes. I will obey the word of the Lord. I will lay down my life. I will do the little things that the Holy Spirit of God quickens to me. To a fisherman the most obvious thing in the world is to let out their
net to catch fish. It must have been seen as an insult to these guys to have Jesus - a carpenter - tell them how to go about their business. But they were obedient to the word of the Lord. I will...

- a great number of fish, the other boats
We need to be ready. We need to be trained. We need to have capacity in our program to hold the catch. The bible tells us that there was too many fish in to put in one boat. Wow. Are you ready? Do you have the extra capacity?

Look at verse 10 - from now on you will catch men.

This is a prophetic word for you. Boys and Girls. Men and women. Be ready.
Get trained. Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch!
