AIM: To let kids and leaders know they are here for a purpose
TEXT: Luke 8:40-44

Welcome to Camporama and welcome to the Brown colony. There have been many different things that have come together for you to be standing or sitting here today. Finance has been made available. Your parents have given their permission. Your fund raising has been successful. Leaders - you've been able to get the time off work.

Whatever the set of circumstances have been to get you to this place at this time and stationed in this colony have been - it is no accident. I believe that God has purposed it to be this way.

[read text]

In our text for today we see two people who needed God to intervene in their lives. Jarius' daughter was dying and the situation was helpless. The second was a woman who couldn't stop bleeding. Both came and sought out Jesus and their lives were changed.

But there are other kinds of people aren't there. There are some who happen to be in the right place at the right time - and God speaks to them - almost by accident. People like Zacchaeus. But then there are others who come and hear God and leave with nothing, as empty as when they came - people like the Pharisees.

My question to you today is what kind of person are you. Have you come to Camporama to hear from God? or will you walk away at the end of this week with nothing but a cap and a patch.

This week - make a date with God. Sure - have fun, enjoy yourself. But keep a clean heart, pray and be ready to hear what God has in store for you.

God will speak to you this week.

Let's pray...
