TITLE:God's Antiseptic
AIM:To have children repent when they sin
TEXT:1 John 1:9
OBJECT:Cotton wool ball, antiseptic solution (like Detol)

Is there a Pioneer who knows about first aid for simple cuts and scratches? Who can tell me what we should do?
[clean wound, disinfect, Band-Aid]

Why should we do this?
[kill germs, allow wound to heal]

What happens if we don't?
[infected, could get gangrene, which can lead to death...]

That's right. Could I have a volunteer please...

When we cut ourselves we should [clean the wound - disinfect]
do this on volunteer - put on a Band-Aid.

When we sin we should do something similar.

Sinning is doing what God has said not to do (or not doing what God has said to do). if we sin we need to get our life cleaned up straight away, otherwise this disease (sin) will set in and infect our whole body and eventually kill us.

To get right the Bible tells us to "confess our sins [to God]" and that when we do "he is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

otherwise the Bible tells us that

"The wages of sin is death"

Remember
cut
clean
disinfect
Band-Aid

sin
pray: confess
pray: protect (or lead not into temptation...)

let's pray...
