TITLE:Doing your best AIM:To show near enough is not good enough TEXT:2 Timothy 2:15a OBJECT:Young child's painting or drawing
My devotion tonight is called "Doing your nest" Who can tell me what doing your best means?
[take about 4 or 5 suggestions from the group]
To me - doing your best means being able to look back at what you've done and be able to say "I couldn't have done it any better" and knowing that you're not ashamed of what you've done.
[show picture. Discuss who did it, how old they were ]
Is it as good as the famous Mona Lisa painting? Who cares! - as long as [child's name] did their best.
The Bible tells us to "do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed..."
Will you do your best?
To look back and know you couldn't have done it any better To not be ashamed?
