WARNING - some readers may find the the following discourse uncomfortable. It bluntly lays the blame for the leadership problems many Ranger outposts (and other volunteer based programs) face at the feet of
leadership. This doesn't make what I am about to say untrue - it just means some won't like to read it.
In any cause that experiences problems the problem is always leadership and the solution is always leadership.
There are ten reasons that I am going to lay out as to why many cannot recruit motivated leaders for their outposts. I have seen these manifested in many groups and indeed in my own outpost. To get the most out of
this "lesson" take a step backwards and think objectively. Initially it might help to image we're having a conversation about someone elses outpost!
- We beg for help
- We run an uninspiring, boring program
- We look to blame others
- Our group never achieves anything
- We keep trying the same old things
- We don't think objectively
- We don't know how to motivate the team you have
- We don't share success or allow others to succeed
- We're not successful in other areas of life
- We get over spiritual
